2011 Endeavor Cabernet Sauvignon

Dry Creek Valley AVA / Dry Creek Vineyard
Sonoma County, California
14.5% ABV

Tasting Conditions

In spring, outdoors, on the patio of Rabalais’ Bistro in Santa Paula, California. May 2024.

Character Profile: The Gift That Kept on Giving

This one kept us and Rabalais’ staff playing for nearly an hour. The aromas evolved as the wine opened up, and we passed our glasses back and forth, letting others nose it. At one point, the aromas were so pronounced that Rabalais’ manager could smell them just by casually passing by our table.

The first aromas we encountered were blackberry, black plum, leather, earth, fig/raisin, and cedar. As it opened, the aromas shifted into ripe blueberry, rose blossom, black currant, and tobacco.

This vintage has become so hard to find that their distributor bought back a bottle from Rabalais’.
